A chance for a few of us to get together and talk about programming.

What is the purpose of _send_? I think I understand that send (or _send_) can be used to call a method on an object, but I'm failing to grasp why. Why not just call the method? For example:

class Kevin
  def what
    "I said what what"
  end
end

kevin = Kevin.new
puts kevin.send(:what)

In what circumstances would I want to use kevin.send(:what) rather than just kevin.what?

Is there a limit to the size of a problem to which you can apply KNN? My understanding is that when using KNN to classify an unknown it has to compare the unknown to every known item in its dataset. So if I had something really big, like features from millions of malware samples, I would think it would become too slow to be of any practical value. Am I wrong?

I know this is childish, but this story made me laugh.

Royal Rumble sucked for me. Not one match that I cared about went my way. Not one. And DB snubbed from the Royal Rumble? That was awful.
