Growlers is a bar, kitchen and living room in the Bella Vista section of Philadelphia.

We're a beer-centric neighborhood pub offering great food and a relaxing environment, open Monday thru Saturday from 5pm to 2am, Sundays from 11am to 2am. Our kitchen is open daily until 1am.

We have a rotating draft list of craft beer that is available by the pint or in growlers. We also offer beer in bottles and cans, and have a serious selection of spirits.

This place has an excellent beer selection. If it were just a bar, it would be an amazing location. However, let's talk about the food. Upon entry, you'd think you were in some fancy, nice restaurant. Realistically, it's just so well-dressed neighborhood bar. Don't be taken back by their fancy (looking) menu. I have often been underwhelmed by much of their food. It's also expensive for the quality. Normally, I don't write bad reviews, but I want to share one part of my meal last night (Oct 26, 2014). My gf and I ordered bacon cheese burgers with lettuce and tomato on each. One might wonder how such an easy order could go so wrong. Let's continue. My burger: Cold. Baconless. (so sad) Only half cooked to my specifications (one half was overcooked and the other half was slightly pink) No tomato. Gf's burger: Cold. Baconless (oh the humanity) Completely over cooked Gross looking cheese and wilted lettuce No tomato As the server brought me the wrong beer, I let her know the burgers were wrong. I was not even given an apology. While this is not rude service, this is bad service. All in all, you can tell someone in the kitchen stopped caring about the quality of their food. When you can't even get a burger right, you can hardly consider yourself even a line cook. I hope management reads this and gets back to making decent food. It will be a long time before I return there for dinner, and, as far as I am concerned, this bar is on two strikes. There are plenty of places to get a good pint in South Philadelphia. There are always plenty of places to get good food. Wise up Growlers.

My wife and I went here after a Philly's game when it was tied. The beer selection here is quite good. We split the cauliflower humus, which was excellent. My wife liked the marinated cauliflower. She also had the quinoa/shrimp lettuce wraps, which were nice and refreshing. I had barbecued lamb in a witbier/peach barbeque sauce, which was so tender. I was actually surprised how empty this place was, with how good the beer and food was. Best yet, they had a TV on the wall so we could watch the end of the game without sitting in all that traffic to get here. I would recommend this place to anyone that appreciates beer and food.

Great service, cold beer and amazing food! Dilly beans and the beer muscles good choices.

We hosted a Sunday brunch after our daughter's wedding at Growler's. Everything was perfect! The food was very good and the French toast was spectacular. Jay and his staff was very attentive and "catered" to our every need. The restaurant was very comfortable with a variety of seating options for our guests. I would recommend Growler's for your special event.

the food was great. we had a cheese plate and grilled Brussels sprouts to start and the turducken burger and Philly chicken, which were delicious. As the name should imply, Growlers had a good selection of beers (including my favorite, Founders Breakfast Stout). The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a fireplace for people to sit around or tables nearby. Low light setting without being dark, and music at the perfect ambient noise level. The staff was off-the-charts accommodating and friendly. I can't wait to bring more friends back here.
