I'm beyond honored and thrilled to have my latest story published at Grown and Flown, a wonderful and wise site where parenting never ends. It's a piece about the grueling endeavor of seeing our kids struggle or turn corners and the shiny "nugget" I picked up recently that is helping me stand back before rushing in.

Happy one-year anniversary HERE IN THE MIDDLE: Stories of Love, Loss, and Connection from the Ones Sandwiched in Between.

To each of you in The Sandwich Generation, juggling multiple responsibilities while caring for two generations at once, I want to say this: I know your tireless efforts and worries are often unnoticed. You are the hero nonetheless. It's your love and sacrifice that is this world at its best.

"My childhood vision of grown-up life was as extraordinary as a lit-up castle. . . .But now that I’ve arrived, it sometimes feels more like a cubicle as radiant as a 30-watt bulb."
