Meet Harlequin, a very handsome 5 year old fellow indeed. He was surrendered by his elderly owner who just couldn't care for him anymore. Harlequin is currently relaxing in our Executive Director's office and was moved there because he wasn't doing well on the adoption floor. He is somewhat better in the administrative offices, but still is very shy and would be much better in a home away from the loud noises of the shelter.

When he isn't hiding, he is the sweetest lil guy there is and loves his belly rubbed. He doesn't like other cats so keep that in mind because he may need segregated from your other felines if you are interested.

Harlequin ultimately needs a home, but failing that we are trying to get him into foster care ASAP. If you know of anyone interested in a loveable cat that needs some TLC along the way, please let us know! We can also do a foster to adopt situation with him.

Please contact our Adoptions Department at 412-661-6452 x215 or email cciancio@animalrescue.org.

It sure is a pretty sad state of affairs that I work for an animal welfare organization and I'm forced to remove this article (from a neutral media source) from our Facebook page because it's supposedly political. Guess what, it doesn't matter that our governor is a Republican! And it wouldn't matter if he were a Democrat (Barack Obama did the same thing)! It's our jobs as citizens and non-profits to call out our leaders for not leading, regardless of their political affiliation. He should have adopted rather than "purchasing" puppies from a breeder. It's our business as an animal shelter to stand up for the animals without a voice. If we don't, then what are really doing? As always, it's the animals that suffer because of OUR silence.

"I've reached my limit. This may bring my presidency down, but I will not yield on this."

Now THAT's the Obama I voted for!

I'm bored and want to go do something.

I know more people have added me to their circles because Google+ has notified me, but it's not showing up that they did on my profile page!
