I'd give Rayuela 4 stars for the food and 3 stars for service. I went with a group of 6 for dinner on a Wednesday and the place was empty, we were literally the only table. We noticed the happy hour sign outside and asked the waiter about it, he didn't really give us a clear answer and didn't seem to know about it. I ended up going up to the bartender and confirming that it was only at the bar. There were some daily drink specials advertised in the menu which we specifically ordered because they were discounted, when the check came they were full price and again the waiter didn't really seem aware of the details of the special. He ended up taking the check back and correcting the price after talking with someone else after we pushed it. The difference was $15 on a $400 check. The inconsistent service was really the only thing that kept me from falling in love with this place. We had a pitcher of passion fruit sangria which was pretty decent. I also got a pisco sour which was enjoyable. For my meal I went with the carne paella which was delicious. It had a ton of meat on it and was super rich, I absolutely loved it. The one bad thing and I think this is the first time I've ever said these words but it could have used a bit more rice. It was a tiny thin layer of rice and I ended up having a ton of meat at the end and no rice. Otherwise the dish was great and I'll be back for it again. Everyone else seemed to like their food as well though they all ordered the steak. Overall a decent night and I'll be back again. I think the server may have been new so hopefully the service is up to par next time and I can bump my review to 4 stars.

Ruyela frustrated us. Food was quite good: ceviche is more akin to thinly sliced sashimi, gnocchi are rich and smoky, lamb is nicely executed, and halibut is perfectly light and tasty. The service, however, is abominable. Our waiter acted as if his previous experience was at some obscure one-star restaurant; he was pushy and unpolished and lacked the ability to read his diners. A simple martini had to be ordered three times before it was relayed to the bar correctly; a special gin drink of the evening apparently prohibited us from ordering anything else with gin in it. The space is modern and handsome though far too loud. Screaming at the top of our lungs to be heard is obnoxious at dinner; my ears were still ringing in the morning.

Went here for a friend's birthday, in a group of 8 people. We had reservations for 8:30 pm. The restaurant has 2 floors, with a bar on each floor. The interior was very nicely decorated for autumn with lots of candles, gourds and pumpkins. There was also a small waterfall over rocks on the lower level. The bathroom, in the basement, is very nice as well and is Unisex. The restaurant was very crowded. The upper level is a lot quieter than the bottom level, however, because the bar on the second floor is farther away from the dining section. We ordered a variety of appetizers and entrees. I had the filet mignon for dinner. It was perfectly cooked, had a nice sauce, and was a good cut of meat with no grizzle or fat that needed to be trimmed. I was very glad I ordered it. It came with asparagus tempura which was an added bonus. I did not try any of the ceviches, but our table ordered the trio and the people who ate it really liked it. They served a birthday cake that one of our friend's had brought to the restaurant. We did have to wait over an hour and a half for our food to arrive, but the waiter was very apologetic and comped several significant items, which was nice. Overall, it was a good experience and I would return.

Since I've only been to Rayuela after a brunch, I did not have the pleasure of eating anything from their menu, but I did have a few drinks with the girls at the bar. From their reasonably priced sparkling wines (delicious) to their fun margaritas, this place has it all. We also even sampled a great red that the bartender recommended, which I was thankful for since he was getting ready to close up to prep for dinner service. I definitely want to return, maybe even with a special guy. :)

They have amazing mezcal and tequila drinks. This place would make for a great first date spot. In fact I was recommend this place from a girl that was taken on a date here. It definitely has a comfortable feel to it. I didn't have any food other than the typical chips and guacamole so I can't say too much beyond this.

Lovely quaint Latin restaurant in the LES. They have a great cocktail menu - try their take on a margarita. It's much smoother with a slight hint of spice. Very nice. The restaurant is cozy and romantic - perfect for a date. Don't miss their specials. Last weekend I tried their 7 seafood ceviche, and it was outstanding. As was the pork chop. The bar area is cozy as well - comfy enough for solo dining.

Me gusta! The decor of this spot is completely different from your average restaurant, they have a tree growing in the middle of the dining area, and the food screams Latin fusion. Cool spot for a weekend date.

Some of the most delicious food I have ever eaten. It is a bit expensive, but definitely worth it for an occasional meal. The truffle butter is astounding. Even the bread is noticeably above average.
