I think the answer is it's no one's fault, because there is no fault. Both Facebook and journalism are doing pretty awesome right now; I bet he was just having a bad day

The basic economics of why ISPs and cable companies suck so much.
In utility and infrastructure industries the normal mechanisms of market competition don't work. Unfortunately, the major regulatory alternatives don't work very well either. But it's no coincidence that cable companies and ISPs are so unpopular.

Julie Johnsson has a nice piece in Businessweek about how Boeing is buying up old 747s in order to sell more new 747s, referring to "desert storage" of the planes that are going to be taken out of service in hopes that at some future point someone will want them....

Just read your article regarding physician salaries, and the need to reduce them. Just dropped by to say that you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Do you have any idea how much medical school costs in France/Germany, etc. vs the US? Do you have any idea about the time commitment and sacrifice?

Apple's market cap is now bigger than every listed company in Spain, Ireland, Portugal, and Greece combined. ANd I think it's poised to get way bigger!

+Andrew Lieffring I guess we'll just have to call them gipsi instead. It even gets the order right: Greece Ireland Portugal Spain Italy.
I have no doubt soon we'll be calling them simply "The Eurozone".

Don't go for penile enlargement without studying up on the efficient markets hypothesis first. You might die!

Niall Ferguson seems to aim at being the Paul Krugman of the right.  Good on him if he can do it - but it's a hard row, Krugman delivers a phenomenal volume.
