Modern decor and it seemed nice but the mattress was less comfortable than I was expecting and that being the main purpose of a hotel earns this place 2 stars. I would advise the management to get back to the basics because I'd have had a better sleep at a holiday inn. And apparently my buddy's Wife's car got side-swiped between when they dropped it off and picked it up at the valet.

Perfect location for Verizon Center events! Near a metro and very friendly staff. Valet parking.

Perfectly located in the heart of Washington, DC (a short walk from Chinatown, the National Mall and directly across the street from a Smithsonian Art gallery) the Hotel Monaco is a real winner. The room I had (in the basement) wasn't spectacular but their pet friendly ways totally made up for any negative thoughts I had.

Beautiful hotel! The service was exceptional and I was very pleased with my visit. The locations was fabulous too; surrounded by tons of great bars and restaurants.

This hotel has a great location in DC - very close to the National Portrait Gallery, the Verizon Center, International Spy Museum and Chinatown. So many great restaurants to choose from within walking distance. The hotel is housed in the original 1839 Post Office and Tariff Building which means it has beautiful architecture - although I would avoid getting a room on the bottom floor like we did - it was a little like walking through utility corridors. As a Kimpton hotel, they allow all sizes of pets without any additional fees which is a great plus for me since we often travel with our dog. And if you left your pet at home, they'll even loan you a goldfish for your room!

I initially stayed at the property for the weekend as a staycation and then returned to stay for a friends wedding. The staff is always helpful and I always enjoy the wine hour and all the perks of being an Kimpton inTouch member. The building is beautiful and I loved the architecture and long hallways. The location is convenient to restaurants and bars and you can walk to the gallery place chinatown area in a few moments.

So wonderful and unique! We were there for our honeymoon and the management gifted us with chilled champagne in our room. It was a bit of a hike to get to our room, but other than that, it was awesome. If you have your own refrigerated snacks, ask them for another fridge. I didn't know we could do that and we lost some food because the only fridge was the mini bar fridge.

A hotel with a real difference. The room I had was fantastic - HUGE bed, high ceilings, lovely bathroom and great TV and internet. Highly recommended.
