If you're trying to find a really great deal on this amazing hotel I'd highly suggest booking it through HotelRaven. Com They have great deals for it on there! Such a perfect place don't have enough great things to say! Hotel Monaco is a heritage building with modern facilities. Hotel staff were warm and helpful. Hotel is conveniently located to Chinatown and the Smithsonian museums. Lots of good eateries at every corner. Lobby served complimentary hot drinks in the morning and alcohol in the evening for hotel guests.

We were looking to spend our anniversary there with our child and were really interested in watching a DVD of our special day. However, things did not go according to plan. 1) When I arrived, I was told that they upgraded my room for me (because of the anniversary). Unfortunately, this was not true. I was given the same room I had booked. 2) I called multiple times to request a DVD player. After waiting 30 minutes I asked if I still had to wait or if it was ok to go and get dinner while someone delivered it to the room. They apologized and said they would put it in the bed. To this day, I'm still waiting for the DVD player. It never came. And it was the number one thing we wanted to do during this anniversary stay. 3) After filling out a breakfast room service request and leaving it outside, it was picked up and we thought it would be delivered with no problems. However, we were called in the morning and asked what we wanted as if we had written nothing on the card. They asked us about EVERY single item we put on there. It made not sense. Second, they delivered the food late, 20 minutes late after the appointed delivery time. Third, they delivered the wrong food and messed up the order. Fourth, they blamed us as if we had ordered incorrectly or left a blank card--both not true. Finally, we asked to speak to a manager. And this person removed the charge for the breakfast. Unfortunately, this was the only compensation for all the problems. 4) We asked for a late checkout through a 1-hour extension (checking out at 1 PM instead of 12 PM). Housekeeping tried to clean our room TWICE before the normal checkout time (12 PM). There is a lack of communication in this hotel. 5) The hotel deactivated my card before checkout time. 6) Maintenance came to our door and asked if we had a small tv. I said the tv is large. He asked if there was a small tv in the bedroom. I said yes. He peered in. Then he realized that either the tv was not small or that there was nothing wrong. He apologized and left. It was a really bad experience and we were not compensated in any way besides the breakfast.

This was my first time staying at the Hotel Monaco and I was able to do so for four nights. Kimpton had a great deal for their Alexandria hotels so we were able to get a great rate on a king suite with... Wait for it... A hot tub! Needless to say, the day wasn't over until we took a dip before bed. The room was extremely comfortable, roomy, the tub rocked (they even have some scented salts ready for you to add to the water), and the staff was friendly the entire time we were there. I didn't get to try the full sized pool but its on my list for next time. The hotel has both valet parking and a garage that you can self-park in. The hotel restaurant, Jackson 20, is fantastic and a good stop for cocktails. My friends and I have been going there for years and it never disappoints.

Great hotel. They will even give you a gold fish if you're missing your pet at home. Wonderful location and interesting building. The rooms are a tad funky but that's what you get in what feels to be a historical building

On a mini vacation booked room for 2 nights, leaving the next morning not staying for the second night. Place is amazing with history hated that the upgrades wasn't taken more serious. Painting on top of painting on top of painting kinda killed the beautiful look of this place tile worke was shabby shame they didn't take time to bring it back to life.. Service was 10 star's for sure and I would definitely come back just for the absolute awesome service.. But the reason I left was when on vacation you do Alot of walking sight seeing and the bed should the best!!!! It was NOT. it was a king size spring mattress that was worn out!!! So disappointed if only the mattress was comfortable I would have stayed. Nothing worse the a bad mattress

Beautiful building, incredible staff, and I wasn't even an overnight guest. Will definitely be bringing them my business next time I'm in town.
