While attending the Philadelphia Art Museum I came across several pieces of art work that I found interesting. Of all of them there was one that appealed to me the most that one being the artwork titled "Escape" by Robert Rauschenberg. He was one of the first American artists to combine images using the silkscreen process. This is a technique in which a design is imposed on a specially prepared fine-mesh screen and then onto paper or canvas by pushing paint or ink through the screen. Rauschenberg used newspaper photographs, art reproductions, and his own snapshots on his piece. He also applied steaks of yellow, blue, and red. The composition of this piece is what i feel makes it so visually appealing.
