Sweet Basil is a delicious Italian restaurant right in the heart of Needham Center. I have been here many times and have always loved the pasta dishes that I have had (and left VERY full). You can also bring in your own wine for an extra fee but totally worth it!

Sorry but very disappointing. Server was great. Food was so full of garlic it was inedible.

The food is delicious, especially the basil that comes with the bread. Two of use shared three starters--the risotto, the baked gouda, and the beets with goat cheese. All three dishes were wonderful and together they were more than enough food for two people. The service was good, though we occasionally had to flag down a waiter for more water or bread.

CASH ONLY! Come here for real neighborhood place where the food is superb and the service treats you like family. The owner is the nicest guy ever and totally makes up for the inevitable long wait and no reservation policy. Everything I have had here is delicious from their fresh salads, delicious mussels to pastas dishes and yummy veal marsala. Go with the classics. BYOB!- need I say more but expect a corkage fee. Conveniently located in Needham and great for grabbing frozen custard afterward since no dessert. Their lunch looks like a fantastic deal and I am sure delicious! After some serious disappoints in this area, this place is not be missed!

One of my favorite italian restaurants. Their pesto (nut-free) is addicting and they pile the portions high. Make sure you grab a bottle of wine from the nearby liquor store since they are BYOB. I hope you like garlic as much as I do, because you are going to eat a lot of it in just about every dish they serve.

This is my second visit. It was so so the first time. It was definitely bad the second. The steak had to be returned because it was over cooked and my veal was soggy covered with muddy salty sauce. I could not eat it after a bite. Though I must say the service staff was very pleasant and efficient.

I can't rave enough about this place. It's BYOB, it's staffed by the nicest people, it's casual yet trendy, and it has yet to disappoint me! The menu is small, but everything on it is reasonably priced, well thought out, delicious -- and you get SO MUCH FOOD. Leftovers galore! Given Sweet Basil's popularity and no reservations policy, it's best to get here early. Other heads up: Cash/check only, corkage fee, no desserts.

Worth the price, huge servings, DELICIOUS food. You can eat for two people with one entree, or three with an appetizer and entree. They always have good music too.
