For being a public course Keith Hills golf course has been in great shape this year. I just played a week ago and the course was in great shape especial with all the rain. I really don't understands the other poor reviews for this course. The course has a really nice layout, and I am looking forward for when the Orange course opens again with new greens. The bunkers could use some new sand. The course has a really nice practice facility also, not like other area courses. I have played far worse courses in the area that are not as challenging. So, if you are looking for a good value for your money I would recommend this course. Fun Track.

Where do I begin?...First....Mr Kilgore obviously dont know a thing about good golf because keith hills was a very nice public course......I guess he shot in the 100's and I guess that would constitute the bad review....bunkers could use some work but overall all three courses were in pretty good shape.....and since the orange has newly renovated greens, tees, and new irrigation system(hints the trench lines dickwad) it is going to be in supreme condition when they get done with the black.....duechebag

Keith Hills course, golf to Campbell University's golf program, features two 18-hole courses that locals have known & frequented for decades. The oldest is a classic Ellis Maples design that is wee bit more challenging than the new, Dan Maples course that, while low in slope rating, lacks encroaching houses and winds its way through woods and local vegetation. Water featured prominently on the Ellis Maples course. Play anytime after 11am or so and you will get a great rate, as low as $35 offseason. Staff is friendly and will try to fit in walk-ons. My main complaint that on both courses, esp. the new one, the fairway ground can be hard and patchy, and thus difficult to hit off of. Otherwise, two good, fair courses.

Oh gosh, where do I begin? First of all, if you're traveling from Raleigh, forget it. You can be in Pinehurst quicker. The condition of this course was absolutely TERRIBLE. We played the Orange/Black course. Orange was a joke... the fairways are covered in dug trenches for irrigation and the greens were terrible with bald spots everywhere. When playing the Black course, it was a little better, but the greens have suffered quite a lot. Furthermore, remember that this is a college course that has a PGM program. Why is this golf course in such terrible shape then? Do they use this as some kind of experimentation for their students? It also appears this course gets a LOT of rounds during the school year, and the fairways are gouged with divots galore. Just skip this place - even though we payed $20 to play, it was awful and totally not worth it.

Keith Hills Golf Course is a 27-hole facility located in Buies Creek. I have had the GREAT pleasure in playing this course throughout my 4 years at Campbell University and have seen all the changes that have been made, and those currently in progress. Let me just say, the negative comments about this course, I just don't fully understand. Keith Hills is currently making major renovations, these renovations are making the course one of the best courses to play in North Carolina. I am an avid scratch golfer and have never found these "terrible" conditions others talk about. I would highly suggest playing this golf course, you will find a challenging yet rewarding layout, and for the prices, I don't think you will find a better deal around. So instead of taking another persons review and "skipping" this place, come see for yourself. I guarantee you will want to come back and play this gem!

Its a dirt trap. Gone downhill. Greens can't take the heat.
