Seems fitting seeing as it is -22 DEG F outside and we just had 12 inches of snow in the last 24 hrs...

So, I pulled the trigger on the Qotom box and am happy to say it runs very well. I wrote up a basic guide for setting up Sophos UTM 9 on it.

So I have a question regarding Google Maps. Is the routing decision making algorithm come from the Google Servers in the cloud or is it made on the device itself within the OS/App? Would it be hardware dependent or are decisions based on GPS location regardless of how accurate it is?

Reason why I'm asking: I own a Nexus 6P (Project Fi) as my personal phone and also have an iPhone 6s (Verizon) given to me for business purposes. I have the iPhone completely Googled as much as possible with Google apps. I recently was on a business trip where I was using Google maps on the iPhone to direct me to my hotel from the airport. The directions insisted that I take a road thru the airport that is barricaded and actually taking me on a long, completely useless track to get to my hotel. I tried the apple maps on the same phone and it did the same thing. I had made sure to completely close both apps and tried again with the same results. I got out my Nexus and pulled up Google Maps and it directed me just fine without taking me all over the place that I don't have access to.

This is just a curiosity. My wife has an iPhone 6s (Verizon) and hates using the GPS on it. Which I now completely understand why...

For those of you who are on the 7.1.1 Beta, I found a bug that is affecting both the 6P and 5X. When using wifi assist to secure an open wifi by VPN to Google, the LTE for cellular data comes back on. Cell data is being used or data is being counted against the carrier. This was tested on my 6P and my wife's 5X while on the phone with Fi support. We both use Project Fi as our carrier. I have included a screen shot of what the status bar looks like.

Make sure you are not being over charged for data. Fi support refunded a good portion of our data back us.

Canadian government to go 100% renewable by 2025 :) 💜😊💜

See why (eco🌎+public health🌈+☮etc reasons) i installed ☀☀️ solar panels equivalent to planting 322 treeshttps://plus.google.com/+AlexP/posts/FHtw2ri5Dq8 and why i drive an electric car equivalent to planting 382 trees (if the oil car would be refilled weekly) ► https://plus.google.com/+AlexP/posts/TQboBAji7uo.
If your panels produce more electricity than you use, you get free charging for your car too, like me. 💜😊💜
The Canadian federal government has pledged to run all its operations on renewable energy by 2025, according to environment minister Catherine McKenna.

I set up a few scheduled notifications in Allo on my Nexus phone. I recently added Allo on my work iPhone to show some co-workers. It ported over my scheduled notifications. I thought Allo was supposed to be phone number dependant and wouldn't bring anything across devices via the Google account?
