No attribution modeling in custom reports and via API?

Hi,
Except from manually exporting reports from the attribution model comparison tool, it seems that GA does not let us move away from the "bad" default last-click attribution model ; neither in custom reports nor in the API.

Do you also feel this is an important/frustrating limitation? (no custom reports, no advanced segments, no custom dimensions,...for non last-click models)
Is anybody aware of plans in that direction?

Import FB Insights data in GA?

Hi,
With GA's recent import features, it is probably possible to import analytics data from other platforms, such as FB insights

Did someone already find a solution to automatically import FB insights data into GA?

This object represents a single Insights metric that is tied to another particular Graph API object (Page, App, Post, etc.).

Unique visitors per medium in UA?

Hi,
When I measure users per medium, the sum of rows is equal to total whereas I was expecting that the sum of rows would have been greater than (deduplicated) total?

Any explanation on this?
(is the total non-deduplicated?
If users are deduplicated, to which medium would each unique user be attributed?)

When I don't use any filter, the raw sum is greater than the total number (what is the expected behavior).
Easy way to check: export to Google Spreadsheets, it automatically sum it, than compare the total number in GA with the raw sum in the Spreadsheet.

Load Google Maps library from GTM

Hi folks,

I consider loading Google Maps library via GTM (event = gtm.load) to improve page display speed :
- avoid loading it in pagetype which don't need it
- and  avoid delaying page display (the library doesn't need to be loaded before content is displayed...).

Any advice/comment/suggestion ?

Populating a GA event with {{event}} macro does not seem to work :-(
=> how shall I do to inject the value of 'event' from last datalayer push into a GA dimension?
(do I need to create a specific macro that would get value from event object..?)

OK, my fault.

The problem with  my GAEvent was not due to {{event}} not correctly populating GAEvent category dimension (but was probably due to the fact that I injected a string in GAEvent value ...)

Is it in product roadmap?

You can also build a custom report with your content group in the filters (of the custom report. not View filters)

Conversion segment capabilities

It looks impossible to create conversion segments based on :
- attributes of the transaction, such as "contains this product"
- custom-variables (at session or visitor level?)

It a shame since we can't apply advanced segment to attribution modelling reports...

Do you have any trick of info to share?

Web-app to manage campaign tracking in a centralized (and obfuscated) way?

Hi folks,
To let my marketers easily track campaigns with GA, I'm looking for a web-based service that would :
- ease/centralize generation of tracking parameters (no Excel master wit dropdown lists...)
- leverage dimensions widening (renamed data import) to obfuscate tracking params (only an id in url, then various dimensions are taken from automatically uploaded CSV...)

=> does such a service exist?
(I guess many companies would pay for it...)

(clearly, I don't understand why no WA tool provides a serious online interface to manage link tracking !!! This would be so time-saving for campaign managers, especially in big organizations)

Create custom campaign tracking attributes

Hi,
I'm planning to use custom campaign attributes this way :
- adding custom params in destination url
- set GTM to detect and extract values of those params to send in visit-level custom dimensions
(don't know yet those custom dimensions will just enrich a useless event, or if I will have to trigger different versions of regular pageview tag, depending if custom campaigns parameters are pesent or not in viewed url)

Any comment/advice/issue ?

Debug : how to know source info for currently debugged visit in UA?

With Universal Analytics, origin of the visit (medium, source, campaign...) do not appear anymore in the cookies.
=> how can I debug and know the values that will be attributed to the visit?

Another option for debugging: If you capture the Google Analytics visitor id in a custom dimension then run a report that shows the full referrer and source, medium and campaign by visitor id.  This screen shot shows the report in the GA API Query Explorer: http://twitpic.com/e5y7gz

How to update customer typology in UA?

I'm considering using a visitor level custom dimensions to indicate customerEngagementLevel with progressive values : Viewer<Checker<Buyer

Of course, I don't want to downgrade visitors.
For example, a Buyer who checks a product should not be downgraded to the Checker level...
=> to upgrade only, I need to change the value if current value is empty or inferior...

Given that there is apparently no way to read/get customdimensions, I consider storing the value to a GTM managed cookie, and use a custom html tag to upgrade dimension when relevant.

=> What do you think of this GTM cookie method?
=> Would you suggest another method?

+Todd Belcher , using database would be great to avoid cookie deletion and transfer the info to other devices, but it requires that the user is logged in ;  which is unfortunately not often my case :-(

Feature request : % in pivot report

Hi GA product managers,

Using pivot report in GA, I'd love to be able to switch metric measurement from absolute number to % of total, % of column or % of line (which is why I still need to export to Excel...).
