Yes. Being thankful for being alive is really what it's all about. And your dishwasher/storage unit made me howl. We just got our first new kitchen in almost 25 years and I am over the moon. The door to my last dishwasher was held on by duct tape.

What a beautiful idea. So lovely that you can use your gift to bring comfort to someone.

A while back I when through a phase of wanting to design quilts and then produce them. Never happened. I love the idea of slowing down enough to learn and create one. I love the idea that you sew every day. I need to poke around your blog to see some of your creations.

I do remember witnessing my share of fights when I was in school. Don't know if that goes on anymore.

Favorite resting place? I love all your photos of the water. As a girl raised in Florida, I'd take a chair looking out over the water any day.  But living in a small apartment in the middle of a home remodel, these days my favorite quiet space is sitting in the car. In my driveway.

"How many visits did I miss because I was focused on the mess on the floor instead of the face of the person begging for my attention?" I love this thought. I could add -- with my blood pressure rising. We can't do it all, so it pays to focus on what is important. And now get our kids to help up clean up now that they are older.
