It still has issues detecting changes in the resolution in a virtual machine(since Plasma 5 with the new display settings tool)...
The apps know the screen size, the background doesn't...
I set the resolution manually and it doesn't want to listen, I still can't even right click on the other half of the screen.
I wanted to use Kubuntu 15.04 at work when it releases.Feb 27, 2015
Well, that settles it then. no Plasma5 for me then.Feb 27, 2015
As far i can see kubuntu 15.04 is not very VirtualBox-friendly. If i set 3d acceleration kwin crashes at the first mouseclick and does not restart. Closing the session brings to a black screen and changing sddm background does not work.
Do someone experienced similar problems on a metal installation?
My host configuration: virtualbox 4.3.22 from virtualbox.org deb, kubuntu 14.10 64bit, cpu Intel i3, 8gb ram, mobo Gigabyte Z97-HD3, graphics Nvidia GT-640.Feb 27, 2015
+Franco Spera VirtualBox in general is a bit left out technology wise.
In VirtualBox Plasma has some serious issues(you will see the background and that's all, all that's drawn by KWin is not visible but the applications are actually running).
I use VMware but I still have those issues I described earlier(Plasma doesn't adapt to changes in resolution)...Feb 28, 2015
+Michael Hastrup Bendsen You seem to be trying to dig for any kind of issue to say that you won't use it...
It's strictly a VM issue, unless the hardware you have doesn't have support for OpenGL.Feb 28, 2015
No I'm not, well people need to explain themselves better then. no when it's a strictly VM issue I'lll definitely have to try it out. I never use VM'sFeb 28, 2015
