Developer Discussion  -

I've been poking around trying to find a way to turn off the lights at night.  Before I jump into development, did I overlook a setting somewhere?

I have a cron setup to start/stop. I ended up changing the wiring on my relay and enabled active_low_mode to resolve my issue - thx Kevin

Is it possible to specify a different configuration for "custom_channel_frequencies" for a specific song?

If you switch to the master branch then yes.  The instructions for doing so are in sychnronized_lights.py.  Look after the docstring of the load_custom_config function

Trouble with pifm!

I checked out pifm ( https://github.com/Mikael-Jakhelln/PiFMPlay.git ) and got it running ( sudo ./pifm ~/git/PiFMPlay/pifmplay/starwars.wav 89.9 ).  This worked beautifully!  I could hear star wars in my car!

I killed pifm and enabled fm in my .lights.cfg
fm=true
frequency=89.9

Then ran (as user pi) start_music_and_lights... all seems to be running just fine:

$ ps aux | grep "lightshow"
pi        2879  0.1  0.2   4276  1300 pts/0    S    15:55   0:00 /bin/bash /home/pi/git/lightshowpi/bin/play_sms
pi        2880  0.1  0.2   4276  1300 pts/0    S    15:55   0:00 /bin/bash /home/pi/git/lightshowpi/bin/check_sms
root      2888  0.2  0.3   4588  1488 pts/0    S    15:55   0:00 sudo python /home/pi/git/lightshowpi/py/synchronized_lights.py
root      2890 56.8  3.2  97444 14400 pts/0    Sl   15:55   0:07 python /home/pi/git/lightshowpi/py/synchronized_lights.py
root      2911  0.6  0.3   4588  1484 pts/0    S    15:55   0:00 sudo /home/pi/git/lightshowpi/bin/pifm - 89.9 44100 stereo
root      2912  2.1  1.2  24124  5452 pts/0    SL   15:55   0:00 /home/pi/git/lightshowpi/bin/pifm - 89.9 44100 stereo

The problem:
1) My lights aren't really blinking, I can hear the relay humming, but not in rapid succession as it normally does
2) I don't hear anything on the radio
PiFMPlay - Its a terminal music player addon, for use with pifm(FM-Transmitter) on a raspberry pi mini computer.
