GOOGLE + :: Project 52 :: 2012
For all of you who are participating this year i wish you the best of luck. If you can complete the 52 weeks i guarantee you will become a more observant and better photographer.
Here are the Posting Guidelines for our Project 52 Challenge. PROJECT 52 GUIDELINES#1 Take & Publish on G+ at least one photo per week for a year
That’s the only rule of a Project 52. The idea of the project is to encourage yourself to take one photograph a week.
Your photograph doesn’t have to be a photographic masterpiece. This project is open to all levels of photographers, from the beginner to the Pro. The whole idea of the project is to learn more about photography and your camera. Each week you will research a different theme and execute it the way you feel fit. By end of the project you will know your camera like second nature, learn to compose your shots better, learn to think about what you want to photograph ahead of time. By the end of the project you can then review what you have posted over the year and enjoy your efforts.#2 Interaction with others undertaking the project
This project is designed to be an active group with active members. So please take a few minutes a week to check out other members and comment, share or +1 Posts if you find them interesting.
I recommend you create a circle called “ GPLUS :: P52 :: 2012 “ and place all other members in that circle. This way its easy to track who is taking part in the Project.#3 Posting Guidlines
Create an album and call it Project 52 2012 (or whatever you feel fit). This will be the album where you will upload all 52 photos for the year. Each week you can share your submission publicly or to your extended circles. I don't recommend you just limit sharing to the other members of the project. If you share publicly this will ensure your image gets picked up by Google and will be shown within their search results.
Now you have your photo uploaded you can tag your photograph with the tag Button found within the light box of your album.
You want to tag the project page so your photo will show up in the pages stream. Type the page name in the Tag Line (+GPLUS::P52::2012
) once tagged your image will show up on the posts page as well as on the Albums page.
Note: By adding these tags to your photographs anybody that does a search Project 52 under any of goggles searches will then have your photographs seen, hopefully bringing more traffic to your Profile on Google Plus
Also by using the tag +GPLUS::P52::2012
means group members can then easily find photos related to the 52 project, and it will show up on the Official G+ 52 Project Page.
Along with tagging your photos with the page i also recommend using the hashtag #2012PROJECT52 in the text of your weekly post. This will also make searching other members submissions easier.#4 Posting Deadline
Submissions each week will have to be in by Monday Evening 8pm (PDT) -8 GMT.+Kate Church
has kindly put together a Google calendar with each weeks theme. The calendar will also remind you when submissions are due for your timezone. See below for details.
After this deadline i will create an album with all submissions and share it publicly through the page and through my profile weekly. Please note that if you miss 2 consecutive weeks posting you will be removed from the project.
This should stop the ones just joining for the additional circles I will update through the page fortnightly those that are removed so if you wish you can remove them from your circles if you wish#5 Calender
Please not the calendar is based on PDT so everyone will have different times show in their calendar. E.G Submission deadline for next week is Mon 8pm PDT, for me here in Sydney Australia it will be Tue 3pm my time.
