Nervous or scared about using Google Scripts?  Here's a pretty easy one to copy and use - it updates a drop-down list within your form based on entries on a sheet in a spreadsheet.  Pretty slick!

If you use it, I'd love to hear what you are using it for.  I created it for a teacher that added names to the spreadsheet (along with other information) as students were eligible to participate in an activity.  But I think there could be a host of uses for this in education!

Frightgeist: a fun and engaging way for teachers to show their students how much of a treat data can be. g.co/frightgeist

When students are first learning about data, all of that information can be pretty overwhelming. But data isn’t just boring numbers in a spreadsheet. We can use data to build useful tools, create engaging visualizations, and provide people with a much deeper understanding of the world around us. It can also be really fun! With Frightgeist, we teamed up with Google Trends to pull the top 500 Halloween costume searches in the United States. We then used that information to determine the most popular costumes across the country.

Booktrack looks like a great way to add a bit more engagement to your written materials.

Booktrack, a company that adds movie-style soundtracks to books, has become a Google for Education partner by offering a free Booktrack Classroom version for schools. The idea is to better immerse students into the text by adding sound effects, music and other forms of audio to the material they're reading.
