Interesting article on yet another MS technology possibly left waning. Although, I don't think MS has proven itself on a pure cloud environment yet so they still need a strong desktop component...guess we'll be waiting to see what technologies are promoted as the "next big thing" in Win 9...(sigh)
Introduction. As a WPF developer for years I was recently concerned by the new direction chosen by Microsoft on its client platforms with the rise of the brand new WinRT framework. I was concerned for good reasons: I've suffered from the collateral damages of the Silverlight failure, ...

BUY the album - don't just download it via YouTube. Share the Love , spread the Yes, not the repro of the official album

I'm not TRYING to be "fanboy-flame bait" but what I saw yesterday was a typical "Do it this way, now do it this way and then we'll go back to this way" all over again.... a move similar to what Microsoft does to developers on an ongoing basis. Remember the ...

Timetracking and Cool Tool Alert: SonicAgile Project Management

Russia has always had a good PR machine, just ask the countries who were ignored when they were annexed in WWII
When the pundits talk about Vladimir Putin’s offensive in Ukraine, they usually mean troops and tanks, but his greatest weapons are ,in fact, his propaganda machine and the gullible western media

After spending over $1500 at the store over the past 2 years, we ordered a fairly large light and were told by the salesman (Brian), it would take 1-2, maybe 2-3 weeks. After 3 weeks, we go in and are told by Paul, that they placed the order but the company wouldn't ship it until they had more orders. He didn't want to pay the extra money for shipping. Fine - why not add it to the cost of the order or give the customer the option? This is crazy! It might take up to 12 or 18 weeks. We've never gotten anything from that store that we haven't had to wait for - but to allow your sales people to sell products that won't ship is just bizarre. The store may have a great inventory but there are only a handful of good staff (Linda, Tony) but whoever runs the actual store should learn some customer service. Can't wait to be cancelling our order.

If this is the best place on Elgin for dinner, Elgin has a lot of problems. I can't speak for the pizzas (which appear to have gotten rave reviews below) but the pasta (fresh made daily apparently) isn't cooked properly at all. We were there early on a Saturday night (5pm). The lettuce in the Caesar salads didn't taste fresh - but wilted - possibly day old. The custom linguine with the garlic olive oil had two problems: the pasta wasn't salted and the garlic was burnt leaving an overall burnt sensation over the entire plate. After maybe four bites, it was left. The Penne with Sausage didn't too much better. While the sausage was nice, the actual sauce was a combination of red, green and then hot peppers. The pasta itself tasted from a box - there wasn't a lot there. On the plus side, the Helpings were large. Our server was nice but didn't do anything when the plates came back with the linguine pretty much untouched (we didn't ask). The wine list is nice but that dinner for two wasn't worth $85 (before tip) . But we won't be back to try it again --- unless we have to.

Spectacular --- one of the best meals I've ever had. Service was friendly and helpful without being all around. The mozza bar is amazing to eat at and beautiful to look at. It was great to see the owner actually working behind it. I was expecting to pay a lot more considering how great everything was.

"Having eaten at Mozza Osteria in LA, I was expecting perfection. The service and atmosphere is striking but the food was ... meh. The amuse bouche was great - but the risotto and pasta were underwhelming and the ""shoemaker's chicken"" I had was filled with little tiny bones - if it was supposed to, we should have been warned. It made the dish inedible. "

Went there for lunch on a quiet Monday. Food was very good and flavourful. It's a bizarre menu for lunch though ---- don't think about ordering one dish per person - just order a bunch of things that sound good. I wasn't blown away by the spicy pork but the fish tacos and soup were really good. The BEST part however was the "dessert" which consisted solely of three cookies that were three of the BEST cookies I have ever had.

Was there for lunch just after Thanksgiving. Amazing food and amazing service - the servers were there but not all over. The walnut salad frise was amazing - with just a hint of dressing but you could taste it throughout. Best meal I had the entire trip. Many criticize Tom's judging - after eating here, judge away, Tom, judge away! Would definitely go back.

We were expecting so much more - going to Mesa Grill for Thanksgiving. Instead, the soup tasted like warmed pumpkin pie, the prawns were undercooked to the point of being raw and the server pretty much ignored us. They did take the prawns off the bill - but from what one would expect from such a NY mainstay, it makes me think twice of going back.
