With the new user explorer (link below), it seems like it should be possible to get to a specific user view given the customer ID. When I look at those reports, I see that id in URL, but while it contains a value called _r.userId that matches my supplied id, there is also a _r.hashedUserId value that I don't see how to generate. Does anyone have insight here?

Outstanding, introspective breakdown of how web intents broke down from +Paul Kinlan. There is so much insight in this post that I'll have to read it at least twice, myself.

This is about UX, but since DX is really a subdomain of UX, and this post is more about human-computer interfaces rather than GUIs specifically, there's a bunch of good stuff that applies. The tagline, "Always be observing and documenting," resonates with me.

+Google Analytics, this looks awesome! It looks like an officially supported tool, no? I just wish it worked with Google Tag Manager out of the box. :)

It is interesting to me that this would be released as an OSS project rather than an improvement to the analytics.js already offered by Google Analytics. Either way, it is a good example of trying to simplify the implementation experience for developers.

That time when Google+ auto-awesomed a photo that I didn't remember taking…

For a moment I wondered what was going on until I remembered a trip to see elephant seals.
