I posted a drill today and couldn't go in depth because of obvious Twitter limitations and that got me thinking about our own limitations about our voices, and how to overcome those. The drill mentioned which is the "loud face, quiet voice challenge." (Make a big face as if you’re about to yell and then speak in a quiet voice.) is all about control. The more control we have over our voice and body the easier it is to reach people, to communicate sincerely, openly and honestly. These drills may seem silly, but they help to connect our voice and body. We constantly forget, physiologically, our voice IS our body. If we can remember to connect those two in our minds first we will have much more control over how we present ourselves.

St. Louis University experiment, 20 students watched others struggle to present speeches or perform arithmetic problems. The researchers then measured the levels of cortisol and a stress-related salivary enzyme in both the speakers and the student observers. The team found that the observers' stress responses were "proportional" to the speakers' responses.
