Common Customer Question #1: "Why do I need to prime?"
Nobody wants to prime. We hear many reasons. “It’s too much bother.” “I’ll just do an extra coat of paint.” “My expert friend says I don’t have to prime.” “It’s a light colour so I don’t need to prime...right?”

A master painter knows better. In the store today, professional painter Steven Price put it best. “The key to a good topcoat is a good primer."

Oct. 28, 2016 - MPP for Eglinton-Lawrence Mike Colle visited Upper Village Paint & Wallpaper on this sunny autumn day. Mike bought some supplies and needed some guidance about a home repair project. "Great local paint store at the corner of Glenarden and Eglinton just east of the Allen Rd.," Mike enthused. "Judith and Nick know their paint and even sharpen scissors and knives. Plus you get a chance to win a $100 local shopping coupon from Crosslinx (http://thecrosstown.ca/myexperienceeglinton) who are building the Eglinton Crosstown Subway. Shop local; forget the Depot." Thanks to Mike for his generous comments which can been seen on his Facebook page here. https://www.facebook.com/collemike88

Customer James recently sent us pics of a dresser, newly painted with exciting new mineral-based COTTAGE PAINT.

Notice the tired dull finish in the 'Before' picture. COTTAGE PAINT to the rescue. No sanding, no stripping, no priming. The freshly painted dresser suite has beautiful smooth clean lines with a satin finish.

Thank you James for sending us the pics. Looks great!

To find out more about clay and mineral based COTTAGE PAINT, go to our site http://www.uppervillagepaintandwallpaper.com/ , call us at Upper Village Paint & Wallpaper (647-352-6119) or visit us at 1162 Eglinton Ave W, just east of the Allen.
