With the advent of technology, information is readily available in the web space to anyone who requests it. Information is even pushed to these people, given their preferences of what they want to receive. The consumer has the power to receive and filter information, and I think this is very powerful knowledge that ecommerce companies should digest. How do I reach out to my consumers given their preferences, without abusing that privilege that might turn them away? This is one basic question that ecommerce companies, be it from fashion or not, should ask.

Ecommerce websites, especially fashion ecommerce websites, really need to put traffic as their top priority. And website traffic comes from various sources, and one of which is thru social media. Twitter has proven to be very effective in doing so, but before you get into the bandwagon of twitter, you need to generate great and valuable content in order to increase your twitter followers. And this is like the chicken and the egg situation.

When companies in the similar industry join forces, this means that they are combining resources and intelligence and have economies of scale. However, it also poses threat to smaller companies or start ups. This happened when a few fashion ecommerce websites joined forces in order to have economies of scale, but it became tough for smaller companies due to competition and ability to provide features at a lower cost.
