Over 5 weeks ago I 'announced' that I was looking for someone to take over the running of this community, which has grown substantially since it was started, as I am just not able to give it the attention you all deserve!

Unfortunately I only received one offer to take the community over, and that was from a company (albeit a small one) who mostly wants to promote their own business, which is not ideal.

So please, this is a last and final call for anyone who wants to take over this community - please drop me an email at me@philsorrell.com with brief details of who you are and what you would want to do with and for the community.

To keep 'on topic' here is me getting 'betrothed' on Dartmoor in the middle of storm Brian a few weekends ago.

It has been great to see this community (that I created on the first day Google+ introduced Communities) grow over the years (there are now 6200 members with no effort on my part!)

Such a community deserves more attention and support for the benefit of the members than I am able to provide, so I am looking to pass it over to someone else to take over, manage and nurture.

If you would like to take over this community then please drop me an email to me@philsorrell.com with details of who you are, what you are into, and what you would want to do with and for the community.

Thanks.

Last weekend myself and Sarah once again made the (now very familiar) journey from Bristol to Dartmoor. Rather than the usual mix of hiking, camping, tor bagging and outdoor swimming (and beer) our trips to Dartmoor usually involved however, this trip was a little different – we were attending a two day course in Outdoor First Aid, run by First Aid 4 Life, at Powdermills near Princetown.

Write up of day 1 and 2 of leg 1 of #CountyCastleCaper - cycling from Tintagel Castle to Lydford Castle via Launceston Castle, then attempting Lych Way on foot across Dartmoor.

Dartmoor, when she is at her harshest, is particularly good at revealing any shortcomings your kit may have. Over the last few months, hikes and camps in strong winds, cold temperatures and very wet conditions has reveal a number of issues and, with the County Castle Caper starting next month, now seems as good a time as any to review some of my kit.

With snow falling outside, we (+Matthew King, +Paul Buck, +Richard Flint and +Neil Rooke) gathered around a table in the warm Plume of Feathers pub in Princetown, stuffed from a hearty dinner and with Dartmoor Brewery ales in hand, to discuss the following day........ http://philsorrell.com/2015/11/18/snow-fun-from-princetown-dartmoor/
