It's galaxy time!  Which means it's going to be cloudy.  Figures.  Since the vast expanse of galaxies and clusters of galaxies become visible in the shoulder seasons of Spring and Autumn, the weather in these parts can turn mighty cloudy and cloudy for some...

The following is a speculative piece that is the result of
the so-called personal revolution that the Mallincam AG-c and DS2.3+ has
triggered in the last couple of months.   I could be wrong or right, or I will touch a nerve.   Either way, I hope it generat...

A personal revolution in the making I haven’t blogged for some time about astronomy, more like almost four years now, mainly because the blog interface is nowhere near as good as interacting on Facebook which is where I primarily interact about astronomy in...

"Science actually generates religious questions — leading from “what” questions to “how” and “why” questions that it cannot answer."

No, science doesn't do that.

Science done properly has scientists asking questions which then are tested by observation and experimentation.  It is then rigorously debated by peer review.  If the data doesn't match what the question set out, the question/idea is refined or discarded.  These questions can be what, how and why questions.

A non-tested or non-testable question is a kind of  "just-so" story...something that should be avoided.

This really isn't hard.

Half way through it and I rank it as one of the best general science books about Evolution...right along side The Greatest Show on Earth, Your Inner Fish and Why Evolution is True.  What this book does NOT do is blow up the god(s) hypothesis OR present an "accomodationist" view.  It is simply about evolution, nothing more nothing less.

The fact that the one of the world's leading palaeontologists has to write this book is telling, but it is necessary.

I wish I had read something like this sooner in my life, would have saved me a lot of grief, misunderstandings and general dipshittery.

If the limit of your understanding of human gender and sexuality is the sum of just parts and plumbing...then you are either woefully ignorant of human gender and sexuality...or just plain nuts...

Lets see what round two gives us today.  Yesterday was a bit of a dud (not a dud for the shores of Lake Huron, but a dud for Mississauga)...
