If you're looking for a fun, interesting read that takes you into the inner workings of the music industry in Los Angeles, Unstrung should be on your holiday book list. Written by my friend and former colleague Cynthia Morrow, Unstrung is the 1st in her  "Blanchard House Mystery" series

Instead of spending many thousands of dollars on an elaborate wedding, many couples are choosing a small intimate wedding or elopement. If this sounds like you, we might have just the perfect all-inclusive wedding or elopement packages that fits your needs.

I just had a wonderful lunch here. The buffet had a nice variety of hot and cold foods with just the right amount of spice. The butter chicken was wonderful and I especially enjoyed the vegetarian dishes. The price was only $9.99 and that's a great bargain. The mango smoothie hit the spot also!

This is a great little family run restaurant. Fresh homemade food and they offer the traditional combo type fare as well as some of their other dishes like crab enchiladas, & chicken mole. Last night I really enjoyed seafood fajitas (shrimp & scallops). Topped it off with a mango margarita. Que Bueno!!

I love how we had everything at our fingertips with this apartment. Everything seemed new, fresh and sparkling clean. I would highly recommend staying here and enjoying the small town atmosphere.

I stayed here just 1 night and I could barely stand it for that short time. We arrived late in the evening so I didn't complain to the front desk to change rooms. Too tired from traveling. The room was filthy. Dust so thick on the nightstand you could I could write my name in it. Between the bed and nightstand were a couple old dried up french fries. I dropped an item on the bathroom floor and was appalled to see the dirt and mold growing on the wall below the cabinet. The room was covered in dust and it's quite nervy to have a tip envelope on top of a dirty table top. Never again!

The Claiborne House has true southern hospitality. I especially enjoy the 'Wash House' which is a separate little cottage which offers breakfast delivered if you don't want to be so social in the morning. It has all the conveniences of the other rooms including wi-fi, which is a must when I'm traveling. Next time I'm there I'll plan to walk to the new Harvester Performance Center to catch a show. It looks like they have a great lineup of talent. I highly recommend you stay a couple of nights and give yourself time to explore some of the beautiful surrounding areas. Shellie has a list of places to go so you don't have to worry if you didn't do any research ahead of time. Thank you Shellie & Tony!

Oh my! One of my favorite places for breakfast. The portions are HUGE. Even with a 1/2 order of the German hash browns I needed a doggie bag. The breads are amazing, especially the molasses bread. There are only a few tables, so it gets very busy, but it's worth the wait. This place is definitely a throw back to 'the good ol' days.
