TL;DR: If you value customer service, fair prices, and/or not being lied to, then stay far away from these people. Also, don't be fooled by the 3.2/5 google rating; their math doesn't weigh everybody's reviews equally, using such asinine data as whether or not we have profile pictures. (Even if you put their faulty math aside, this is further proven by the fact that, after leaving this review and waiting several minutes for an update, the 3.2 score never changed.) 6 out of 9 reviews are a 1 out of 5, the lowest possible score, while 3 out of 9 are a 5 out of 5. Although google's total review ratings give it 3.2 stars out of 5, the true score is 2.333~/5. I was offered a low price plan and accepted it. I believed the price was too good to be true, so I kept asking about it multiple times at the end of that visit and the beginning of my second one. Sure enough, at my second visit, they came through on the low price. They repeatedly told me that the price for low income families would remain in effect on my third visit, because I was still having trouble believing the price in comparison to prices I've paid over the years at other establishments. They lied and charged me 600% of the price we agreed upon in advance and, no, they didn't perform additional operations - aside from an x-ray of my mouth, which they claimed had little to no impact on the final price. I calmly asked the receptionist to please inform families of these changes in advance - or to ask other members of staff to do so; whoever was responsible for dictating how they should handle abrupt price changes to their plans - either over the phone when calling us to give us reminders of our appointments, or when we come into the office. The fact that we're on the low income plan meant that we can't afford these outrageous price hikes, especially without being informed of them until it's too late. She rolled her eyes, looked sidelong at the wall to her right, grinned like an idiot, said "Ummm... Oookaaayyy..?" and scoffed at me. I didn't appreciate this, so I tried to explain this to her again: people who are on the low income family plan cannot afford to suddenly be charged 600% of the price we were told that we were going to pay when this appointment came around, and I'd appreciate it if she could talk to one of her employers about this and how it hurts their customers. Once again this simple concept went over her head, she rolled her eyes again, grinned like an idiot at the wall to her right as if sharing a good laugh with a friend who wasn't there, gave the same "Ummm... Okaaayyy..?" response, and scoffed again. Needless to say: I've never visited them again, never will for the rest of my life, and encourage all of my friends and family members to visit any of the other 5+ dental offices in Smyrna which can easily be found via a simple google search. I don't visit dentists to be treated condescendingly by valley girl receptionists with room temperature I.Q.s, nor does my wallet need to take that kind of abuse. I wouldn't speak down to a dog the way that receptionist spoke down to me and repeatedly rolled her eyes at me, and I don't appreciate deceptive business practices. If you value customer service, fair prices, and/or not being lied to, then stay far away from these people.

Mr. Cunningham, we do not have you in our system as being a patient or ever being scheduled for an appointment. You appear to have the wrong dental office. We would appreciate you removing this negative post about our office, ASAP. You should probably find out the correct location of the dental office you visited and contact them with your concerns before slandering another office. Thank you.

I visited Dr. Gurley after hearing so many of his advertisements. I have a dentist that is great but I let almost 3 years go by without going and started having some pain. I thought there was something major going on so I inquired about the sedation dentistry. For my consult appt I was in the office from 11:30 to almost 2pm mostly just sitting. Dr Gurley told me that I needed three root canals, three crowns and multiple fillings totaling almost $7000 after insurance! Something did not sound right as Dr Gurly had originally said one root canal then sent someone in for another X-ray but never came back to talk with me. When I went over my treatment plan with the lady up front there were now three root canals listed. I took my X-rays and went back to my regular dentist for a second opinion. And thank goodness I did! I didn't need ANY of that stuff. I had two pretty big fillings that needed to be done and the rest of my discomfort was coming from the fact that I grind my teeth at night and also clench them during the day so I needed a night guard. I'm only writing this in hopes that someone else may read this and also seek a second opinion before just believing everything he says and letting him do the work. I can't be the first person this has happened to.

He helped my daughter feel relaxed and comfortable during wisdom tooth extraction and getting cavities filled. She is a very very nervous patient,who is terrified of needles.

Got teeth filled months ago. They did not hurt at all before the filling and now I'm often in pain on the left side of my mouth and cannot eat anything too hot, cold or sweet without severe pain. Drilling was extremely extremely painful to the point where I would rather be wearing dentures right now. Thought the pain would go away but it's been months now. My best friend got the same thing done at smith dental and said it didn't hurt at all and she's having no pain or discomfort, and she just got hers done yesterday. I would go back to try to get help for this pain but now I've lost my trust in them.

Horrible dentist I waited 4 hours for them to tell me to make another appointment. Then it happened again. Now I'm missing 4 teeth and the partial he gave me will not fit and he will not replace it.

There seems to be some confusion. We do not have anyone in our system by your first and last name, nor have we done any partials in a while in our office.

let me start by saying I will never go back to see that dentist. I think he should check his eyes ( he has big glasses on but he can't see nothing ). He did a filing for me and it fell out after 2 moths. He can't see that my filing is out , he just can't see. I got so frustrated and I left. Next thing my insurance calls me saying that he made a claim for that office visit, that he ask me to come see him.
