Looking forward to Thursday, last year was the best single day I spent at a conference.

I usually enjoy my job, but yesterday it was awesome! For the first time I have been given direct access to transactional data which I can run queries against, I'm starting to build up a single view of customer.

Great presentation by Craig Sullivan about testing pitfalls, especially the section on confidence levels and error ranges   http://www.mindtheproduct.com/2014/03/video-easy-ab-testing-fk-ups/

The problem with having a keen interest in web usability is that it leaks in to real life. For example, on my drive home there is a section of road which often has some "inconsiderate" driver behaviour. It would be easy to blame the drivers, however, I think in this case it's actually down to poor design. The road functions perfectly well, but can encourage bad behaviour and frustration. I'm fairly sure the road designers don't take this sort "emotional interaction" with their product in to consideration.

Looking at Hitwise traffic data for a number of competing retailers, are there are statistic conclusions we can draw about their relationships? I've had a brief look, but have more questions than answers http://www.gatheringmomentum.net/blog/competitor_analysis

Includes my 2 cents worth... Many people are talking about the 2nd of December being the busiest day, I think they might be surprised, for many people the 9th will be bigger (IMHO), deliveries are becoming better
