Some closer shots of some detail areas of the job. The entry point on the wall for the pipe had silicone that was sunk in. A new sealant was added and this one was flush to the wall then it gradually tapered onto the pipe to create a better transition. The stair like area was thoroughly sanded and the edges were debris free in order to avoid past issues with gunky corners and torn edges.

The edges where the wall meets the floor were given a silicone coating to create a watertight seal and prevent the damage that those areas had experienced before. Afterwards the black coating was rolled onto the walls and spread throughout the floor to cover the whole room in a waterproof layer. Here you can see a series of progress pictures for the painting process.

The floor was also cleared of any liquid/sludge via shop vac and sweeping. This revealed a lot of bubbles and holes that had to all be removed to prevent them from expanding and causing damage in the future.

Now with the work area clean the crew began to sand and remove the existing coating off the walls. After sanding was completed throughout the space we would be able to apply the new coating.

For this confined space job every aspect had to be monitored and regulated to maintain the safest work conditions possible. We had everything from a steady flow of oxygen into the space to a complete fall arrest system set up. The entire time our crew also wore respirators and headlamps for the low visibility within the space.

The base of the window frames had failed caulking all throughout. There were certain areas where the silicone was not making any contact with the ledge whatsoever. The old caulking was removed and Century applied a new bead of silicone in its place. Afterwards the ledges were coated which covered up the silicone and created a stronger seal.
