well it's definitely pretty looking! and the hinge looks like it was given some serious design thought. I don't know if one designer spent 4 years on it, or 8 designers spent 6 months on it or what, but i'm itching for this machine.

It's all about "waiting for pegatron" essentially. When they get the haswell, then we get Macbook Air's, and Asus Zenbooks, etc. The "sexy" laptops.

jinx!  Though, that last statement about the socket only being present on LTE models is wrong.  See the +Johnny Phung link above.

weird, i was saying we need something like this for people at the office on friday.

Tiny helicopter-camera follows you around, streams video to your phone. Well, here comes The Transparent Society. I have a scene about this stuff in EXISTENCE. Set 30 years from now!  Ooooh reality!

any IBM'ers around?  +Máirín Duffy recently upgraded her phone with sprint, and we're about to lose our "IBM friends & family" discount because we don't know anyone with an @ibm.com address that well anymore (that we can think of).

Thanks Cliff! I'm all squared away now, though.

+Warren Togami Jr. thought you might find this interesting.

This is a great story!  I used to spend hours and hours in high school playing around with math problems I never could solve.  Glad to see it when somebody succeeds by just never giving up.

wow that's cool

Seeing Invisible Motion

This technology could be used for all sorts of things. The example they are using is to monitor a newborns pulse and respiration without actually needing to touch them or attach devices.

It's amazing what you can find by looking in plain sight! #sciencesunday

"A 30-second video of a newborn baby shows the infant silently snoozing in its crib, his breathing barely perceptible. But when the video is run through an algorithm that can amplify both movement and color, the baby’s face blinks crimson with each tiny heartbeat."

My wife and I had an older model car (1989 Honda Prelude). The car was fine, but we finally wanted to indulge in a new car. We had a few wants: 1) 4 door 2) hatchback 3) subcompact 4) sunroof 5) no leather 6) american company if possible to support the economy 7) not super expensive We weren't expecting to get all of our wants, but those were broad strokes of what we were looking for. We did some research and decided the Fiesta seemed like a good bet. Watertown Ford was the first dealership we went to. Andrew, there, immediately greeted us as we walked up to the entrance. He was very polite and friendly. We told him what we were looking for, told him we were thinking about the Fiesta and he took us to one in his lot that met most of our criteria. He gave us a good deal on the car, gave us a great deal on the trade-in (almost $1400 for the 1989 car). There was some confusion over a $369 "Document Preparation Fee" that we didn't know about or agree to, but we explained we didn't like it, and he worked with us. Overall a good experience, and we've been very happy with the car.
