Let's visit Carla, an Argentinean street performer passing through Santiago, Chile. She's juggles, rides the unicycle, and does a host of other tricks, but her real specialty is making the motorists laugh! Here she's taking a "smoke break" in the middle of her set.

This particular polymorphism of the Strawberry Poison-Dart Frog is called Bastimentos, as that's the only place where it's found, one of the Bocas del Toro islands off the Caribbean coast of Panama.

Another from the San Blas Islands. This school of fish sparkled in the sunlight. I followed them for two hours, taking hundreds of shots. Incredible!

The San Blas Islands off the Caribbean coast of Panama are postcard-perfect dreamlands. Enjoy them for a week aboard a small yacht with friends for less than the price of a hotel.

A tepidly curious barracuda follows the cameraman, wondering what this sea creature who has been bothering his lunch for so long is all about. Can it hurt me? Does it have food? What does it taste like? Off one of the many San Blas Islands in the Caribbean coast of Panama.

Vultures perch on a large, old cross under a dramatic sky. Andean Condors have been using these hastily paired tree trunks for dozens of years. Set just outside of Barichara, Colombia near the beginning of a trail leading to two waterfalls (Salta de la Mina).

Guadalupe watches over Bogotá, Colombia. Set far above the already lofty metropolis, her outstretched hands often touch the surrounding clouds.

A particularly hardy web, doing it's thing well after the weaver has parted, in the forests of eastern Colombia near Barichara.

Wax palms tickle the clouds in Cocora Valley, part of Colombia's Los Nevados Park in the Central Cordillera of the Andean mountains. Senior palms stretch to 50 m (160 ft), needles poking out of a pincushion landscape. Many dream of magic and the supernatural while hiking this lush countryside, for some an escape, for others an arrival. How long would you stay in an enchanted land like this?

Within the enormous Andean peaks in Peru even the sun can play hide and seek. Never a shortage of dramatic skies in this chilled area, exchanging energy between arid desert and tropical jungle, one easily forgets the freezing rain and howling winds in little moments of awe. Like this one.
