LA Schools Ditch iPad Program

The Los Angeles Unified School District, second largest school district in the U.S., regrets partnering with Pearson and Apple to deliver iPads and coursework software to every student.

With the school year almost over, the Pearson software remains woefully incomplete, most students still can't access the coursework, security settings (like browser limitations) proved easy for students to override, and a large chunk of the iPads have gone missing. Legal questions about the propriety of the deal itself also loom.
LA Unified says it is "extremely dissatisfied" with software publisher Pearson's work for the iPad program. If a deal isn't reached, LAUSD could take Apple to court.

I really don't like Casino's much for the start but was here for their food and hotel which I must say was rather a welcome surprise of comfort and quality.

This used to be my favorite local restaurant in the area but after we ate at it yesterday we all quickly decided that we would no longer be visiting it when we were in the area. The service felt like a chain bar level including staff that didn't know the basics about food and that slightly rude hint that lets you know that they would rather not have customers. The Service was followed up by a menu that was much reduced and changed since our last visit and food that was so bland and tasteless that it left me wondering if it mattered what I ordered anyhow.

Basic food with no real thought or care put into it. Save the time and try somewhere else.

The service was awful and the so-called fresh fish expert didn't know the first thing about even telling if fish was fresh. I used to like this place but each decade it gets worse. I'm frankly surprised they are still in business.
