Mr Yu called our office because his remotes would not work, not to buy a new remote. Our technician tried to reprogram the remote. It would not work. This is a common symptom of a failed logic board, especially when there is no surge protection on the power source. Upon further test, the technician concluded that the logic board had in fact failed. The technician gave Mr Yu a price on a new opener, and he agreed. As far as prices, Mr Yu fails to mention that a store like Lowe's does not install an opener for $180.00. They will charge you just to show up and look at the application. They also don't do diagnostics on an existing open the way that we do. It is also an additional $125 minimum to install the opener. What Mr Yu also failed to mention is that the $400.00 included nearly $30 in sales tax, an additional optional remote, and an optional wireless keyless entry system. Our openers also have 1 pc rail systems. These are far superior to anything sold at Lowe's. That is a fact. Mr Yu also made a false statement in claiming that we made adjustments to his door track. In garage door opener installs, we did not, nor is there a reason to adjust his track. As we proved when we sent his documentation to the BBB, Mr Yu had rollers on his door that were worn our and missing ball bearings. They were marked on his inspection form as failed, and written out as a recommendation for repair. These rollers getting hung up could likely be the cause of the initial failure. However, Mr Yu declined that repair. Mr Yu made another false statement in that we missed something in his initial visit. This is not true. We returned to his house on what he claimed was a warranty call for the opener that we installed. At that time, we again explained to Mr Yu that it was the rollers hanging up and causing issues, and not the opener installation. We did not charge him a service call to show up again.
Mr Yu's claim that we burned up his motor that was damaged when we arrived is a false and libelous statement. We support consumer rights, and we urge our customer's to provide reviews of their experiences with us, good or bad. This review, however, is full of false claims and blatant lies. If Mr Yu truly had a problem with our prices or our punctuality he had every right to decline our services. In the end, he made an appointment to have these rollers replaced and attempted to not be on site to pay for the service. This type of misrepresentation of our company will not be overlooked or taken lightly.
