On October 1st, the Ventura County Board of Supervisors honored the Gene #Haas Foundation for its $1 million donation to manufacturing and machinist education. Gene Haas Foundation board members and supporters were on hand for the ceremony.

On August 19, 2013, the Gene #Haas Foundation expanded its commitment to education and training through a $1 million grant to the SME (Society of Manufacturing Engineers) Education Foundation for scholarships in manufacturing and machining training and education.

The Gene Haas Machine Technology Scholarship helps ease the financial burden of qualified students who are interested in machine operation and maintenance coursework. The Scholarship is issued though the SME Education Foundation.

The Gene #Haas Foundation continues its support of manufacturing education in the form of a $27,000 grant to the SME Education Foundation for the Skills Canada Machining Championship Award winners.

Companies donate several hundred thousand dollars worth of equipment to the California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly) Engineering Dept. after initial gift-giving from the +Gene Haas Foundation
