I do not crave many foods in this life but nothing can compare to the feeling of withdraw I get when I do not have "Hershel's East Side Deli." I have had Deli sandwich's from all over. (NYC, Nashville, Boston...etc) and I can personally say from the stand point of someone who appreciates food that this is the freshest and most tasteful sandwich's and food. All the meats are made day-by-day and have a one of a kind flavor. If you live anywhere within the Philadelphia area and have never been here you are missing one of the best tastes to hit Philly.

Compare this to any corned beef sandwich in a major city with a lot of Jewish individuals and you will find it to be one of the worst. I asked for a lean sandwich and I got nothing similar to that word. It was full of gristle, flavorless, and I almost choked on it. The portion was good, probably because they are trying to get rid of it. They are dealing in an inferior product and serving it to people they know whom are in town for a short period and have no recourse. The worst part is people are waiting in line for this! I was in for the Flower Show on March 03, and both my cousin and I purchased sandwiches. The trashcans at the Convention Center enjoyed it more than we did! My advice, head over to a real Jewish Deli and get what you are paying for!

I have been making it a tradition to come to this place whenever I visit Philly. I have had the corned beef, the pastrami, and the brisket which have all been top-notch sandwiches at a decent price. If you're looking for the best sandwich at Reading Terminal Market, make sure to stop by.

This was a true deli experience. I got the corned beef reuben sandwich and watched the guy behind the counter make the whole thing from start to finish. I watched him carefully slice the meat and stack it high on the bread. This was a satisfying meal. I was very full and happy. I'm going to have to try the pastrami next time!

Every time I go into The Reading Terminal Market. Hershel's is my first stop. Never a disappointment! Get a special or Ruebuen and they will let you combine two meats at bno extra charge
