Fields in FlickStart commands can now have expressions including assignment statements. This greatly increases the both the power of individual commands and the ability of commands to work together.

In addition new built-in functions provide:
1) Read/Write access to the Calendar
2) Clipboard access
3) Data from contacts such as name, phone numbers and email addresses
4) Conversions from one unit system to another for length, mass, volume and temperature
5) Currency conversion
6) Date and time functions
7) Charting

A whole new and updated set of tags is available which take advantage of these abilities. The tags have voice based commands which demonstrate how the expression mechanism and the new functions can be combined. Check the 'Current Tab Help' from the menu bar in FlickStart for descriptions of the new commands.

The attached images were created by commands in the Charting tag.

FlickStart now has a speech module for triggering commands.

The speech module not only provides another way to run commands, it also allows you to pass different parameters each time you run a command.

The result is a whole new set of capabilities, such as commands where the trigger contains a name from the contact database.

New sets of commands are available from our Downloads page.

For instance there are a set of SMS commands that allow you to playback the last SMS from any contact, and to send an SMS to any contact. These can all be invoked hands free and without turning the screen on.

Two new videos have been added to our YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtASE30oEDGXFLWRM0BQfiQ).

One video, "FlickStart, Nexus 5X, Two Cameras", shows how FlickStart can run both the back and from cameras simultaneously to capture videos on a Nexus 5X phone.

The other video "Collaboration Using FlickNet" shows how multiple phones running FlickNet can connect to a PC and share control of apps.

FlickStart and FlickNet have been updated for Android OS 6.0. The change for 6.0 requires the acceptance of a whole pile of permissions when the apps are first started. The new design in Android doesn't really accommodate apps which run mostly in the background so you are asked to assign permissions right at the start. You can always change your mind on individual permissions via the Android App Manager later. The new versions are 1.0.84 (FlickStart) and 1.0.28 (FlickNet).

FlickNet now has a PC mouse emulation. From the 'KBD' tab you can can select a panel designed to operate like a touchpad. As you move your finger about on the 'touchpad' the mouse pointer on the connected PC(s) will move in sympathy with your finger movements. The 'touchpad' panel also provides support for mouse buttons and the scroll wheel.
