David Pappas serves as the IT Compliance Manager for Standard Register. In that role, David ensures that risks to the company’s data and reputation are adequately addressed. He works with process owners to implement process and technical controls to eliminate or mitigate risks. He has been employed at Standard Register since 1998. When not improving Standard Register’s business environment, David enjoys working in the community. He lives in Troy Ohio with his wife Becky and two children Matt and Michelle. Matt resides in Columbus Ohio and is a recent grad of the Ohio State University with a BA in History. Michelle is an Junior in the DAPP program at the University of Cincinnati. Becky is employed as a Treasurer’s Assistant in the Treasurer’s Office in Troy City Schools.
David volunteers his time leading the Troy Strawberry Festival Soccer Invitational. He has been involved in this local fund raiser for 10 years, serving as tournament director for the last five. During his tenure, the tournament has raised more than $80,000 for several local organizations including the Troy High School Soccer Parents, Troy Soccer Club, FC Tippecanoe and the Miami East High School Soccer Parents. In addition to serving as a fund raiser for these local soccer organizations, the tournament also has funded up to five $750 scholarships for graduates of Troy High School over the past seven years.
In 2010, David served as the General Chairman of the Troy Strawberry Festival. In that role, David provided direction to over 60 committees organized to host the event. The Troy Strawberry Festival serves as a fund raiser for local civic organizations in and around Miami County. It has been recognized as one of the premier festivals in Ohio and the region. In 2010, the festival will celebrate its 34th year in existence.
