Everyday is a Blessing --- There is a wonderful tradition on Bali island where every day women give intricate flower ornaments as offerings to their divinities. There's pretty much a ceremony everyday for that matter to highlight one aspect of life or another (eg. planting rice, buying a house, taking care of your car, etc ; ) I think it is a great habit we can learn from!
PHOTO OF THE DAY: Rising Giant --- waking early can be rewarding! after the 3am alarm and soon out the door and hiking Mt. Batur (Bali). Once a the top, we were fortunate to have amazingly clear skies! As the sun rose from the horizon, a giant imposed himself in the horizon - Mont Rindjani from the neighboring island of Lombok. Amazing morning!
Timeless Mindfulness --- One of the hundreds of Buddha statues on the Borobudur Temple in Java, Indonesia - each of the large stone bell shaped pieces in the image actually has a similar Buddha statue inside!! This is apparently the largest Buddhist temple in the world. The details in the stonework throughout the temple is just incredible! --- Processed with Nik HDR Effex Pro 2 and Lightroom 4 this is my first try at HDR so let me know what you think ; ) very open to tips and comments! = ) ---
Winds of the Ocean -
--- Sunset on the gorgeous coast of Amed, Bali The best part is that it was just taking with my bag as support - didn't have a tripod at the time so we gotta do with what we have = )
Now that's gotta hurt!! = ) --- Crazy Thai boxers ripping at each other! these are in the light-mid weight category i think. the heavier they are, the harder the kicks land. ayyy! --- Bangkok, Thailand
The Road Ahead --- Out in the middle of the country side of Indonesia, we saw fields of rice and chilli peppers - . By the mountains among all the fields so peaceful lays a road. Where does it lead? perhaps that's for you to discover... --- Techy stuff: - this image was made by merging 5 images at different exposures - processed with Nik HDR Effex Pro 2 and Lightroom --- Trying to keep the HDR as natural as possible ; )
Before leaving for Indonesia/Thailand/Cambodia for 3 months, it was very useful to check at what others brought on their way (especially David DuChemin) In the spirit of sharing, here is a glimpse of pretty much everything that I brought for my trip besides a few more pieces of clothing and notepads = ). I will make a post with a detailed list of the items but please ask away if you have any questions or to share your experience with packing for a trip. Hope some if this helps! = )
The car I bought was great but I did not appreciate them getting the price of the car wrong on the contract, the mileage was 10K higher than in the ad, they added an insurance I never asked for and had to sit on the phone way to many times to cancel, plus I am waiting for a refund for more then 60 days now which is VERY FRUSTRATING especially when the sells man doesn't seem to care and it seems like "the accountant" is (either existent or) very very to handle refunds.
