I want a social network that replaces the combination of Google Reader and blogging from my college days - something that gives the same dopamine buzz as viral content, but for longer and weightier stuff. Or, even better, one which encourages creativity instead of clicking the share button.

I am currently working with media organisations in Europe helping them with digital strategy and implementation. Previously I worked for Ireland’s largest media organisation, RTÉ, across its digital platforms for five years before being head-hunted for an executive role at WorldIrish.com, a startup focused on the Irish diaspora with an emphasis on UGC. In RTÉ, I was responsible for setting up the broadcaster’s first dedicated social media team and I project managed the digital output for several high-profile events across multiple platforms (web, mobile, social etc). In WorldIrish, I was part of an executive team that pitched for, and raised, investment and I was responsible for hiring and directing a multi-disciplinary team located in Ireland, the US and the UK. I graduated from Northwestern University in 2006 with a Masters in Journalism. As a journalist I have reported in Ireland, the US, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and Romania.
