I know it eventually has to happen for every Doctor, but I will miss Matt Smith. He has a the acting chops to have a great career after Doctor Who, and I wish him the best! Crossing my fingers for fantastic casting of the 12th!

We can confirm that Matt Smith will be hanging up his bowtie and leaving Doctor Who at the end of this year.

Happy goats!

British scientists have been measuring the moods of goats at a sanctuary in Kent, in order to work out if the animals recover fully from neglect and cruelty.

To work this out, the team tested the goats in an experimental enclosure containing hidden food rewards. The test measured how "optimistic" or "pessimistic" the goats were as they explored the enclosure in search of food.

The researchers say the study provided them with an "objective measure of the animals' mood" and demonstrated that, with the right care, mistreated animals can be fully rehabilitated, in this case to once more be happy goats.

Oh why?! Goats are lovely! I know I was scared of ducks when I was little because I was bit by one while I was feeding it corn...maybe he had a similar experience...

Na. She just realized that people are starting to gag on the pill that is her bizarre rhetoric. She's fleeing a future campaign failure and FBI investigation...good riddance.

Happy Birthday Shakespeare

It’s Shakespeare’s birthday, so I’m unearthing one of my favorite pieces celebrating the Bard. Written by Bernard Levin and first posted on HuffPost in 2005, it reminds us of Shakespeare’s greatness and his ability to deal with all the darkness of the human soul, but also to brilliantly celebrate the light and tickle our fancy.

If you cannot understand my argument, and declare 'It's Greek to me',
you are quoting Shakespeare;
if you claim to be more sinned against than sinning,
you are quoting Shakespeare;
if you recall your salad days,
you are quoting Shakespeare;
if you act more in sorrow than in anger,
if your wish is father to the thought,
if your lost property has vanished into thin air,
you are quoting Shakespeare;
if you have ever refused to budge an inch or suffered from green-eyed jealousy,
if you have played fast and loose,
if you have been tongue-tied,
a tower of strength,
hoodwinked or in a pickle,
if you have knitted your brows,
made a virtue of necessity,
insisted on fair play,
slept not one wink,
stood on ceremony,
danced attendance (on your lord and master),
laughed yourself into stitches,
had short shrift, cold comfort or too much of a good thing,
if you have seen better days or lived in a fool's paradise --
why, be that as it may, the more fool you, for it is a foregone conclusion that you are (as good luck would have it) quoting Shakespeare;
if you think it is early days and clear out bag and baggage,
if you think it is high time and that that is the long and short of it,
if you believe that the game is up and that truth will out even if it involves your own flesh and blood,
if you lie low till the crack of doom because you suspect foul play,
if you have your teeth set on edge (at one fell swoop) without rhyme or reason,
then -- to give the devil his due -- if the truth were known (for surely you have a tongue in your head) you are quoting Shakespeare;
even if you bid me good riddance and send me packing,
if you wish I was dead as a doornail,
if you think I am an eyesore,
a laughing stock,
the devil incarnate,
a stony-hearted villain,
bloody-minded or a blinking idiot,
then -- by Jove!
O Lord!
Tut, tut!
For goodness' sake!
What the dickens!
But me no buts --
it is all one to me, for you are quoting Shakespeare.

Dogs commuting to the city to beg for food in Russia....WHHHATT!?

Each morning, like clockwork, they board the subway, off to begin their daily routine amidst the hustle and bustle of the city.

But these aren't just any daily commuters. These are stray dogs who live in the outskirts of Moscow Russia and commute on the underground trains to and from the city centre in search of food scraps.

Then after a hard day scavenging and begging on the streets, they hop back on the train and return to the suburbs where they spend the night.

Experts studying the dogs, who usually choose the quietest carriages at the front and back of the train, say they even work together to make sure they get off at the right stop – after learning to judge the length of time they need to spend on the train.

Scientists believe this phenomenon began after the Soviet Union collapsed in the 1990s, and Russia’s new capitalists moved industrial complexes from the city centre to the suburbs.

Dr Andrei Poiarkov, of the Moscow Ecology and Evolution Institute, said: “These complexes were used by homeless dogs as shelters, so the dogs had to move together with their houses. Because the best scavenging for food is in the city centre, the dogs had to learn how to travel on the subway – to get to the centre in the morning, then back home in the evening, just like people.”

Dr Poiarkov told how the dogs like to play during their daily commute. He said: “They jump on the train seconds before the doors shut, risking their tails getting jammed. They do it for fun. And sometimes they fall asleep and get off at the wrong stop.”

The dogs have also amazingly learned to use traffic lights to cross the road safely, said Dr Poiarkov. And they use cunning tactics to obtain tasty morsels of shawarma, a kebab-like snack popular in Moscow.

With children the dogs “play cute” by putting their heads on youngsters’ knees and staring pleadingly into their eyes to win sympathy – and scraps.

Dr Poiarkov added: “Dogs are surprisingly good psychologists.”

When it comes to suburban hang outs, this is definitely one of the better places out there. The enclosed patio offers customers the option to enjoy the summer heat without being exposed to the busy traffic on 95th street. The indoors is dim and cozy with a very cool wrap around bar that offers plenty of seating. The food is not what you expect from your typical bar...it's actually good! Their wraps and sandwiches are freshly made and their burgers are delicious as well. Their beer selection is great for a suburban bar. They have many micro brews on tap and they frequently get new beers in to try. They also have a full list of seemingly creative cocktails if you are into martinis and mixed drinks. I have only ever had one bad experience with the wait staff, but other than that time the waitresses have been phenomenal and attentive. They will quickly offer a suggestion if you are between two options on the menu, and they are willing to let you sample anything on tap before you spend 6 bucks on a beer you might hate. Their prices are fair for what you are getting. Sure they aren't as cheap as the typical suburban bar, but other bars don't have their selection. The food is affordably cheap as well. I have been here many times and it is always a great option if you want to get together with friends for good food and good drinks without paying downtown prices or having to deal with unnecessary noise.
