We keep having cold snaps, but today was warm enough for some of the more adventurous critters to come out of hiding and test the air. In contrast to my previous post, this is pretty much SooC with levels adjustment; 2 orange gelled backlights and an overhead softbox on a slab of black ikea glass.
Found this one when it was near dark, but I was still out and scouting nice spots to shoot some buggies. This is actually one of the few times that a "belly-shot" of a spider still appeals to me, perhaps because of the angle. You can still see its eyes a bit :)
I'm out to scout some new spiders, hopefully (and insects, and birds, and mammals...). In the meantime, enjoy this gorgeous orb weaver from +Marcelo Valente, and keep sharing and browsing our arachnid friends on this lovely #SpiderSunday !
The idea was to make a macro shot of this spider, but, as it was as large as the palm of my hand my courage failed me!! Beautiful specimen...does anyone know what kind of spider it is. Shot was taken in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
