I've been using Seamonkey Mail when I want or need a local Email client. Seamonkey is the continuation of the original Netscape Communicator and Mozilla Communicator suites.

In my case, I'm using the Email primarily to read rich content messages, edit them in a Seamonkey Composer window, building an Email distribution letter from multiple Email messages, editing the contents and grouping them in a scheduled Email message.

I don't think that everything about this is "wonderful", but a greater level of interoperability between even one variety of Windows and one Linux-based distribution does indicate a solid foundation for application and systems that cooperate and work with one another.

Completely open? That remains to be seen. But this mirrors what happened between mainframe systems and PC systems in the eighties and a great deal of progress was made and is continuing today.

As the enterprise landscape is changing -- in favor of Linux and open source -- companies like Microsoft are embracing Linux. Most recently, Microsoft announced support for the Unix Bash shell on Windows, providing developers and administrators with an important tool for managing Unix and Linux servers.

Be kind, do things that are good, useful, helpful for others and you may be surprised how well you feel.

Kind words and kind action is good for you and me too.

I'll have to give this a good look.

For many years, KDE was my Linux-based desktop of choice. As my personal computer systems grew older and older, I looked into other options, including Xfce on the desktop and lightweight window managers without a full desktop environment, such as a personally customized version of the IceWM window manager.

I still use both the Xfce desktop and the IceWM window manager, but I have one relatively current generation laptop capable of handling KDE, and if there is an interesting and intelligent implementation available, perhaps it's time to give it a close up look and evaluation.

For the longest time, KDE mostly vanished from the radar of most Linux users and media alike. Why? For many, the evolution to a more modern metaphor for the desktop (such as Ubuntu Unity, or GNOME 3) took precedence over the old taskbar/start menu style. For others, KDE went through a period where the desktop simply wasn’t stable. The evolution from KDE 3 to KDE 4 was a bumpy transition that knocked a lot of users off the bandwagon and onto smoot...

For those of you who are interested in - or using - the systemd methodology for booting your system, this article provides information about a few of the systemd tools.
Once you get over systemd's rude departure from the plain-text, script-laden System V of yore, it turns out to be quite nifty and comes with an equally nifty toolbox. In this article, we'll be looking at four of those tools, plus one you're probably already familiar with but haven't used in the way you will see here. So, without more ado... coredumpctl You can use this tool, as the name implies, to retrieve coredumps from systemd's journal. By ru...

Keeping the church relevant, while also remaining true to the essence of the faith, is something that I have personally sought for many years.

You cannot change the essence of the message without disturbing and changing it, but you most certainly can and should regularly assess and adjust the presentation to make sure that it is something that those needing to hear it can relate to.

This has long been an issue and the article is worth reading.

The Church looks and operates a lot differently than when it first started, but is that a bad thing? Today, we are obsessed with excessive consumerism, celebrity gossip and the latest technology. In the end, these things are empty. We turn to spirituality for meaning in our lives. Unfortunately, many have become disillusioned with organized …
