Won't you come into the garden?  I would like my roses to see you.* Finally! A garden update. Sunday morning my garden looked like this: Happy Mother's Day?! Yep. About four inches of snow and everything underneath about to bloom. I was a bit panicked, thin...

My yard came with "flower prisons" and most of the plants are inside the fences. So far I haven't really needed deer repellent. Now, do you have bear repellent? Might need that if I put tomatoes on my patio!

Humility Block? Intentional? Personality?
Imperfections: Humility or Personality?  I finished my little commission quilt. I guess it can be an extension of No. 8: Make baby quilts again. So much fun. Five old flannel shirts, well worn, well loved and a bit tattered, were the basis for this quilt. A...

Introduction

Green Acres comes to life in a tiny cabin in the woods high in the Colorado mountains. I'm a mom trying to actually have a life while also corralling, supervising, entertaining, parenting two teenage girls on what is basically a “foreign exchange” program that does not entail leaving the country. Dad and son are holding down the fort in Big City, Texas while the girls experience country life, a small school and cold weather.   And I’m just trying to regain myself after years of being just the mom. Along the way I’m also learning about bears, mountain lions, ice (very slippery) and driving in the snow.

I’ve given myself some challenges to complete when I’m not doing all the other stuff along with a time line to complete them.  You can read the reason why here and the list here.

My 5th (6th?) trip with Dvorak's. Always fabulous, fun guides. Always big on safety. Might not seem important until someone falls out of a raft and you see the guides spring into action. We have a cabin nearby and bring all of our friends and family to Dvorak's to raft. Have also done overnight trips in the past and have always had a blast. GREAT RAFTING COMPANY!
