It’s that time of year again! We are launching our 3rd Get Ready For Winter Campaign to ensure that information and supplies are available to elderly people in the Borough of Hillingdon who are at risk from the cold.

We have a free “Winter Wrapped Up” booklet which contains two room thermometers as well as a range of other Age UK leaflets with information about keeping warm and well in winter.

We also have local information sheets “Preparing for Winter” (tips and advice), “Keeping Warm in Winter” (information on local services and contacts) and advice on the safe use of electric blankets.
We are running the electric blanket exchange scheme again.

Hillingdon Council is offering the free heater loan scheme for older people whose heating has broken down and we have a selection of  cosy blankets, bed socks and hot water bottle covers available to those in need.

The leaflets are available to pick up from our Ruislip and Uxbridge Advice and Information Centres and our Townfield Centre.

If you would like further information, or to request leaflets, please call our Advice and Information Team on 020 8756 3040.
