We recently concluded a trial with a tenant who we knew was not telling the truth.  The trouble was that she came across as being very believable.   It is quite possible that she even believed her own testimony.  We ultimately did win the case, but it was not easy. Impeaching the credibility of a believable witness requires extra preparation, as noted in the enclosed article.

The State of New Jersey has revised the Summons for Special Civil Part Complaints.  The new form should be used for all matters bearing a "DC" Docket Number.  This form does not apply to Small Claims or Landlord Tenant matters.

The backlog for getting a Warrant of Removal issued in Essex County, New Jersey has now reached 4 weeks.  The traditional expectation of getting a Warrant of Removal issued in 3 business days apparently does not apply in Essex County.
