Our daughter Fran is now is currently in Montana USA. She's due back in a few weeks time and I know she's already looking forward to seeing her beloved dogs again - and with good reason ! (On the group shot, L to R - Maddie, Nellie & Cash)

Meet Hugo, a 13 month old #BlackLabrador who came in a few weeks ago for residential training with his equally boisterous brother Max.
For the first 2 / 3 weeks (!) these two believed that the world belonged to them, but now they realise life's not as simple as that and that the key to everything is respect !
Individually they're great, but I'm now working to the goal of having them both off lead, together, without creating mayhem !

Last week I had to have our little dog Roma put down, due to terminal cancer.
We could have prolonged her life with different drugs but for how long and would her quality of life have improved noticeably ?
The experience was very upsetting as she meant so much to me. However, I've since found this photograph and would prefer to remember her like this.

Surprisingly Paul has still to establish the Sumo Appreciation Society ! However, he did take this photograph recently as the young lad was relaxing after another training session.

Having nothing better to do after a day course ( who needs a sit down with a cup of tea? ), I found myself in our field with Paul and his lad Sumo - a #WorkingCockerSpaniel. Normally to be found carrying shot rabbits or pheasants, this little dog had only one thing on his mind - "the" pink ball.

Bobby, one of my residential training guests, loves to have a ball thrown for him, as these pics demonstrate perfectly.
And the bigger the better !

While some animals have a natural agility when out pursuing their prey, others just want to get the job done. Annie (my #ClumberSpaniel  ) let the mouse know she was coming from the moment I opened the door !

20 minutes in the snow and poor Sumo is a dog like no other ! This poor lad was due to go shooting today but Paul decided to stay at home. Just as well really, as I can only imagine what his dog would have looked like after a few hours in the white stuff !

Roma is a 9 yr old Border x Terrier.
Very sadly she's terminally ill but this has not stopped her love of the Cumbrian Fells - even in the winter.
In this photo she sits patiently while my wife trains a Border Collie.

Meet my latest residential training guest Molly, who's a Miniature Schnauzer.
We have introduced a lead to this 5 month old and initially it was a battle of wills - as the photos may suggest. However, casual walks in the garden and house with it on have made it a very boring article and not one to bother about.
Now, if she doesn't use those lovely eyes to be too stubborn we'll move on to the next stage of training !
