Traditional seafood favorites served in a bustling yet cozy 1930s cottage overlooking the ocean.- Google
People talk about crab soup, hush puppies, breakfast buffet, shrimp and grits and stuffed flounder

Had high expectations for this restaurant. Anyone who spends over $100 on a meal should be pleased when they walk out of there. This was not the case for my experience. Food was extremely over priced for the quality and flavor. EXTREMELY OVER PRICED! We ordered the pecan crusted grouper which didn't taste anything close to a pecan flavor; it just tasted like a regular fried fish. We also ordered the lobster tail which was dried out and bland. The only item we actually enjoyed were the hush puppies. The service was also sub-par; not once did our waitress ask us how our meal was and she showed very little apathy in ensuring we were pleased. Spend your money elsewhere.

Food was terrible. Lobster was ruined. Rubbery and chewy and not worth $5 much more $40. Overcooked, bland, wet, under-seasoned vegetables. Type of place that tried too hard to be fancy and forgets about the food. Waitress was nice, good-service. The view and outdoor part was nice too. However, I go to restaurants for the food and if I'm paying prices this high, I expect the quality to match.

Excellent seafood right on the ocean that combines great ambiance with great food. The She-crab soup was great as well as the fried shrimp. I was very pleased with my dining experience here.

I have been living in Myrtle Beach for over 12 years and I tried a lot of restaurants in the area. For some reason I never been to Sea Captain's before, so I decided to go eat there on a Sunday night. The restaurant has a perfect location, right on the beach, the porch area has a splendid view, but all that is ruined when the food comes to your table. The salads are subpar, no presentation and no taste. I ordered the fried seafood platter ($28) and it was a mess: way too much breading, over fried and tasteless. I had fried seafood in dozens of other places and it is hard to get it wrong. This overpriced restaurant managed to ruin it. If you are looking for a nice view and don't mind to overpay for mediocre food I recommend this place, otherwise steer away, there are endless other better choices.

Couldn't exactly tell you much about the place except that an old lady that asks how large your party is pretty much looked us up and down before she told us to wait 45 minutes for a table and we would have to wait outside the restaurant. We were a party of 9, 4 adults 5 children hispanic family we are from the northern virginia area. We were told to wait outside while everyone else who was waiting was waiting inside in a waiting area. We left immediately no one eants to be where they are not wanted. Shame that discrimination is still so strong even at a tourist place like myrtle beach.

It is a shame that I found this restaurant in the Chamber of Commerc Vistors Guide, read the poor reviews in the last month and I don't even think I want to take a chance on a hefty price with poor quality food. Must be something with the management and preparation. This venue is wonderful from what I have read. No offense at all, I suggest you get Gordon or Robert in there so they can help with the kitchen. Good Luck!
