Putting marginalized people at the centre of speculative fiction stories is what the new anthology Long Hidden is all about. Here are a few thoughts on why I, as a non-marginalized person, wanted to submit a story to it, and why I think the guidelines for Long Hidden could improve the entire genre.

Great post!  Epitomizes some I had to occasionally remind myself when under a lot of pressure due to schedules and deadlines: Be Human First, ie., don't let said pressures prevent you from dealing with people thoughtfully and respectfully.
