A new study finds that having "executive presence" is about 26% of what it takes to get promoted into leadership positions. It's defined as having gravitas, communication skills and a polished appearance. Why is this illusive characteristic so important? Do you have it, and how do you know it when you see it?

Amazing article!!! I'd never heard of "executive presence", but I have it for sure! The funny thing is, as a woman of color, I've heard on more than one occasion that I'm intimidating.  I know other women of color who've heard the same thing.  I wonder how many women, regardless of ethnicity, experience backlash for having "executive presence?"
Of course it matters. If it s'not natural, then one has to take courses to develop executive presence. Attitudes are as important as skills.tx Jenna for this point.
