There will be new outdoor kitchens and Disney-themed topiaries, so make sure you check them out during your visit. Epcot’s International Flower & Garden Festival will take place from 6th March-3rd June.

Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy Disney

Calling all Cars fans! A new show called Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy is launching at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in spring 2019. This action-packed show lets you see Lightning McQueen perform impressive stunts and speed around the track with his pals.

18. Meet Cruz Ramirez

After the show, stick around to meet Cruz Ramirez. You’ll find him outside the racing academy, so get ready to snap that selfie.

19. New Fireworks Show

Disney’s fireworks displays are unlike any other and a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort wouldn’t be complete until you’ve watched one. IllumiNations is the current night-time firework show at Epcot, but Disney have revealed that this will soon be coming to an end. Don’t worry though, something amazing is already lined up to replace it. The new firework show will begin as soon as IllumiNations finishes at the end of summer 2019 and will still be a nightly display on the World Showcase Lagoon.

Relative to summer, September is a good month to visit Walt Disney World thanks to improved weather, lower crowds, and fun seasonal events. It’s the first full month of school being back in session, and crowds tend to be light after the Labor Day holiday and stay low until the end of the month.

This is great news for those of you who want to experience the new attractions at Walt Disney World (like Toy Story Land) without the insane lines the Summer 2018 season will bring for those new attractions. While you’ll still have to wait in a lengthy line for Slinky Dog Dash, it won’t be quite as bad as the 2+ hour waits that are predicted for busy summer days.

September is arguably the best month of the year in terms of crowds (check out our When To Visit Walt Disney World post for the best and worst months of the year) and weather is the only thing that prevents it from being the best overall month to visit. While every park isn’t going to be “dead” every day of the week, if you plan well, you can really avoid crowds during a September Walt Disney World visit. That also means shorter September 2018 park hours, but you can’t really argue with accomplishing more in less time.

Toy Story Land will be open come September 2018, and there’s also the relatively-new Pandora – World of Avatar. Avatar Flight of Passage and Na’vi River Journey will still have moderate waits, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see both regularly dip below an hour. Not nearly as bad as the multi-hour waits this summer! Read our Ultimate Guide to Pandora – World of Avatar for tips and tricks on doing this new section of Walt Disney World!

Beyond that, September is great for special events…

disney-world-halloween-decorations

To answer a common question: yes, you will see Halloween decorations if you visit Walt Disney World in September. Any day in September (this year decorations start going up in late August). Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is offered throughout September, and most of the best dates for attending Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party are in September.

It’s a really fun hard-ticketed event that we fully believe is worth doing at least once

Google search for vacation rentals - Great news for guests and owners!
Currently, OTAs ( e.g. Booking.com/HomeAway/holidaylettings.co.uk/Trip Advisor) monopolize the first paid and organic search results for major vacation destinations and keywords.
However, with the #Google vacation rentals rollout, it will be interesting to see if they can maintain these positions – or if their ad spend will have to increase tenfold to keep up with the competition of smaller, individual owners.

Additionally, the comparative nature of Google’s travel search results means that guests will automatically be able to find the best price for their stay. This is great news for both guests and vacation rental owners alike.

Owners already know that the guest will find the best price when they book direct on their website, as they will be saving the service fees set by OTAs which can range from 6-18% in some cases. However, Google will spare owners and managers the job of educating guests about the many advantages of booking direct, as it will be clear where the best deal is. Watch this space!

Although built by the same developer, Veko Estates, Forest Nook 1 & 2 (now called Ski Chalets at Pamporovo Village and also known as Chalet at Forest Glade - bg.net) is an entirely separate establishment under different management from Forest Nook 3 Apart Hotel and Spa.

Pamporovo is in the heart of the Rhodope Mountains about 250km from Sofia and 85km from Plovdiv. Summer visitors may find it equally convenient to fly to Kavala in Greece (about 99km). Pamporovo is the southern most ski resort in Europe with temperatures around a pleasant -3C and average snowfall around 150cm. The ski season lasts from mid December until mid April. There is virtually no risk of avalanche. The peak at Snejhanka (Snow White) is 1926M and resort altitude 1650M. The resort is particularly suited to beginners, families and intermediate skiers or snowboarders. Tuition is inexpensive and excellent.

Summer activities include mountain biking, horse riding, walking and hiking. Early summer is good for white water rafting. There is also quad biking, canoeing, fishing, climbing and paintball.

There are many scenic places of interest to visit nearby and the summer climate is really lovely 17-22C in the mountains and warmer at lower altitude and very dry and sunny July to mid September..

Examples of places to visit include The Wonderful Bridges, The Trigad Gorge, The Yagodina and Devil's Throat Caves, the Bachkovo Monastery, Plovdiv with its Roman Amphitheater (still in use today) and nineteenth century old town, and the peaks of Perelik, Mechi Chai (Chepelare) and Snejanka. The chair lifts run in summer and you could visit the Smolyan Lakes, by chair lift.

You could consider a two centre holiday with a week in the mountains and a week on the Aegean coast of Greece or on the island of Thasos. (fly to Kavala).

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) said it had 'widespread' concerns about the sites, which it has declined to name, and has also launched enforcement action against them.

It highlighted how the role commission paid by hotels could influence their rankings and the extent to which they included all costs in the upfront price or introduced them later in the booking.
