Soursop (Graviola) Kills 70% of Pancreatic Cancer Cells in Vitro: In this study, an extract of soursop (Annona Muricata) killed up to 70% of human metastatic pancreatic cancer cells (FG/COLO357) in vitro, and displayed a remarkable ability ...to kill the cancer cells even at low concentrations. Researchers also made a major discovery: the #soursop extract killed the cancer cells by starving them of sugar. When treated with just 10 micrograms per ml of the extract (the lowest dose used in the study), the rate of glucose uptake in the cancer cells fell by an astonishing 97%. When given to mice with pancreatic cancer, the soursop extract resulted in tumours 52% smaller, and with 70% fewer metastases, than in untreated mice. This study marks soursop as a very promising potential natural therapy for pancreatic cancer, especially since soursop fruit is already regularly eaten by millions around the world (in Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, Southeast Asia and the Pacific). Research has also shown soursop fruit to possess anti-inflammatory and anti-diabetic properties. Big Pharma has made essentially zero progress in treating pancreatic cancer over the last 40 years. Perhaps it's time to give serious consideration to natural alternatives such as soursop. Note: this study used a commercially available graviola supplement made from powdered leaf / stem and purchased in the USA.
